Prepare for the 3G Network Shutdown

As the 3G telecommunications network approaches its official shutdown, its crucial to ensure that your OxyGuard Pacific systems remain fully operational, especially those that rely on SMS notifications for alarms. Over the past 11 years, we've installed many systems across Australia and New Zealand, and some of these were configured for 3G communications.

What does this mean for you?

If your system is still using a 3G modem, it will need an upgrade to a 4G modem to continue functioning properly. Without this upgrade, your system may lose its ability to send SMS notifications once the 3G network is decommissioned.

How can you tell if you need an update?

We've made it easy to identify whether your system needs an upgrade. Above, you will find a photo of the older 3G modems alongside the new 4G modems we've been installing recently. Simply compare your modem with the image provided.

If you're unsure which modem you have or if you need any assistance, we're to help! We can assist you with a software update and the installation of the new 4G modem to ensure your system continues to run smoothly.

Why use a TGP probe?

Water mostly contains dissolved oxygen and nitrogen. But if the water becomes oversaturated, your fish can develop Gas Bubble disease. To detect and prevent that, you need a TGP probe.

The probe measures temperature and TGP – Total Gas Pressure, which, together with a DO probe and a control system, can calculate and display the saturation of oxygen and other gases. With this information, you can stay informed and ensure the health of your fish.

New Zealand Aquaculture Conference 2022

Congratulations to Karen Morley and her team for another fantastic New Zealand Aquaculture conference which was held recently in Nelson.

Technolab were a silver sponsor of the event and enjoyed catching up with old friends and colleagues that we haven’t seen for the past few years and making new connections as well.

It was a great opportunity to showcase the new Oxyguard Cobália software that will be a game changer for the industry and eat way too much amazing seafood.
