OxyGuard are set to release their new multi-user online system at Aquanor in Norway in August. Called Cobália it is an advanced software system for all aspects of the aquaculture sector.

The CEO of OxyGuard Denmark, Paw Pedersen said the software was designed with ease of use in mind and compatible with practically all equipment on the market.

The cloud-based system has a user-friendly design with benefits for fish farmers, suppliers to the aquaculture industry and retailers enabling them to see a reduction in production and administration time. The software basically allows you to control and evaluate every part of your production.

Your data can be shared with your suppliers to enable them to give tailored advice based on your specific farm’s conditions. For example, your feed supplier can tailor feed specifically to the needs of your farm based on real data.

All measurable data is analysed, collated, recorded and distributed, with full control given to the end user on data they wish to share. Processes are streamlined and more efficient, with greater transparency and a reduction in your facilities environmental impact.

The best bit is it priced so that even the smallest operator can afford it.

In these challenging times, we have to think outside the box.

For our latest project, our client had limited time, limited access to technicians for installation, as well as limited access to their farm. To overcome these obstacles, Technolab put together an OxyGuard Pacific system; all ready for the farm to simply install the sensors to numbered terminals. All sensor connections, relays for emergency oxygen, power and communication connections were pre-wired and the programming completed before the system had left our workshop.

This one OxyGuard system in a stainless steel enclosure can monitor, control, log and alarm 16 dissolved oxygen, 3 pH, 3 CO2 and 3 Salinity sensors, in addition to being able to control 16 emergency oxygen solenoid valves.

Our client will have this system up and running in no time!

What a beautiful morning and location for our latest OxyGuard Pacific installation!

This new feed barge has been built and fitted out with the latest and greatest equipment at Margate, 30 minutes south of Hobart here in Tasmania. It is now ready for the barge to be towed to Stewart Island in New Zealand for Sanford Limited - one of New Zealand's largest producers of King Salmon. The OxyGuard Pacific System will monitor and alarm the dissolved oxygen in the 16 cages that the barge is servicing.

Congratulations to local ship builder Haywards for their continuing and outstanding success in building these barges and other marine vessels for the aquaculture industry.

A Tasmanian Salmon hatchery majority owned by Tassal Limited is located in central Tasmania, about an hour north west of Hobart. Technolab together with Hydrotech hydraulic engineers designed and supplied a filtration system for the outlet water from their two flow through farm sites. Each site required a filtration system for 700 litres per second. We used 2 drum filters Hydrotech HDF1606 filters for this project.

The unique design of the sump pit minimised the footprint of the system with the use of piped weir walls. The piped weir walls for the outlet and emergency by-pass reduced a normal outlet/emergency wall length from 14.4m to 4.4m an overall reduction of 10m in width! The system was installed at the outlet to the farms main settlement pond thus reducing the sediment load to the pond and to the environment. The system was commissioned in October 2019.

The family owned company operating their head office in Burnie, Tasmania had invested a lot of time and money into the Tasmanian Salmon industry.

Over the past 7 years Technolab has worked with De Bruyn's to help design and install the monitoring and control system on a total of 8 Salmon Smolt transfer B-Double Transport trucks. Each Truck trailer has an OxyGuard Pacific System installed measuring Dissolved Oxygen (DO) and Dissolved CO2 in each compartment. The DO level is then automatically controlled be delivering pure oxygen to ceramic air stones in each tank. This provides the optimal DO level to keep the smolt safe and comfortable on up to 8-10-hour transports. The measurement is then transmitted to the truck cabin so the truck driver can view the measurement and any alarm notification.

De Bruyns have utilised their in-house workshops to manufacture these state-of-the-art trailers to an exceptional quality and safety requirements for the operators.
