OxyGuard Polaris C TGP Total Gas Pressure Meter

The OxyGuard Polaris C TGP is a portable total gas pressure meter designed for aquaculture and water quality monitoring. It allows operators to measure total gas pressure (TGP) and dissolved oxygen (DO) with one handheld instrument.

It offers three measurement modes: a standard dissolved oxygen reading, total gas pressure shown as a percentage of saturation, and gas pressure shown as a volume percentage.

You can select which reading appears in large figures on the display, making it easier to see the value most relevant to your work. The meter also includes a built-in data logger, with on-screen prompts and menus to guide you through its functions.

Technolab supplies the Polaris C TGP to aquaculture operators across Australia and New Zealand. Contact us for product advice or a quote.

Why measure Total Gas Pressure in aquaculture?

Total Gas Pressure (TGP) monitoring helps aquaculture operators identify potentially harmful levels of dissolved gases in water. When the total pressure of dissolved gases becomes too high, supersaturation can occur, which may affect fish health and welfare.

A TGP meter can be used to check water entering or circulating through hatcheries, recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS), tanks and other aquaculture facilities, helping operators assess gas conditions and identify potential problems within their water systems.

The OxyGuard Polaris C TGP combines total gas pressure measurement with dissolved oxygen (DO) measurement in one portable instrument. This makes it particularly useful for routine water-quality checks, troubleshooting and monitoring conditions where both oxygen and overall dissolved gas pressure are important.

Typical applications include:

  • Aquaculture and fish hatcheries
  • Recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS)
  • Checking for gas supersaturation
  • Water intake and process-water monitoring
  • Fish health and water-quality investigations
  • Dissolved oxygen and total gas pressure spot checks
